The IABSE Symposium ‘Sustainable Infrastructure - Environment Friendly, Safe and Resource Efficient’ in Bangkok, Thailand, was held September 9-11, 2009. It was the first major IABSE event in Southeast Asia and attracted speakers from 43 countries and attracted 534 participants and 33 accompanying persons from around the world. Among the participants The Symposium was supported by the Ministry of Transport of Thailand and was organised by the Thai Group of IABSE, Chulalongkorn University and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
