Second Nanjing Cable-Stayed Bridge

The Second Nanjing cable-stayed bridge over the Yangtze river is located 11 km downstream from the first Nanjing Bridge. It passes through the third largest island in the Yangtze River – Baguazhou. Its total length is 21,20 km. In particular, the main bridge located in the southern section is a cable-stayed bridge comprised of a steel box section with an orthotropic deck. Its main span is 628 m, which ranks as the third longest cable-stayed bridge in the world.
The main bridge in the southern section is a cable-stayed bridge with 5 continuous spans of steel box girder with a
50 mm epoxy asphalt concrete pavement on top. Its total length is 1238 m. The reinforced concrete cable tower forms a separate inverted ‘Y’ shaped structure with a height of 195 m.
