Y. Lin, Z. Zhang, B. Ma, L. Zhou, China

The Luban Road river crossing, located in the south of Shanghai, is the key connection of the city’s north-south viaduct, and is also the 7th river crossing facility in the Shanghai urban area. The construction of this project aimed to meet the local expansion requirement of getting traffic across the river, especially in relieving the burden on the North-South viaduct that is surrounded by a busy road network. This bridge has completed the main north-south elevated line and connects the Shanghai north-south expressway improving the traffic condition between Pudong International Airport and the city center. With a main span of 550 m this arch bridge offers six lanes of traffic in two directions.
