The Maglev high-speed system is a new type of track transportation system for China. It utilizes the magnetic force to provide the contactless support, guidance and propulsion of the train. Maglev is the only large-capacity passenger ground-transportation means with a velocity of 400 km/h – 500 km/h in the world, and it is considered to be one of the most promising high-speed passenger transportation means in the 21st century. As the first commercial operation line,
the construction of Shanghai Maglev Demonstration Line is of great significance to motivate the development of high-speed Maglev technology.
